All staff at the Family practice will be participating in a 10000 per day step challenge for the month of November. The aim of this challenge is to promote the benefits of exercise to our patients as well as improve our own health and wellbeing. In the process we will be raising money for 2 worthy charities: Mind and Cancer UK.
“All at the practice will participate and aim to do the equivalent of 10000 or more steps per day for the month of November.”
All staff nominated a Mental health and a Medical charity that they felt passionate about. The charities were drawn randomly from a hat.
Provide advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem. They campaign to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding.
They want survival in the UK to be among the best in the world. They focus efforts in four key areas – working to help prevent cancer, diagnose it earlier, develop new treatments and optimise current treatments by personalising them and making them even more effective.
They continue to support research into all types of cancer and across all age groups.
Other forms of exercise can be used to make up steps by using an exercise equivalent chart.
All at the practice have been randomly assigned to 3 teams. Each team contains a mix of administration staff, nurses and Drs. There will be a prize for the winning team.
There will be some healthy in-house competition amongst the teams.
Please support our practice team by visiting our go-funding page and donating some money to these 2 excellent charities. There is also a donation tin at our main reception

Would you like some general advice about what to do when your baby is poorly?
Once the dust has settled from welcoming your new bundle into the world we invite all new parents to attend one of our free, informal talks, held in Clifton Village.
In their first six months babies are busy feeding and growing. They are also building their own immune system. This involves being exposed to lots of different viruses, some of which may make them unwell. It is a natural part of growing up but can be an unnerving time. We would like to help by telling you what to expect, giving you some confidence in looking after them when they are poorly and knowing when and how to ask for our help.
We are running a one hour session at Christ Church and would encourage parents of babies who are around 3-12 months old to attend. Your little one is very welcome too and there will be tea and biscuits.
